Shirin Franklyn – TEL Advisor

Meet the team > Shirin Franklyn – TEL Advisor

I support and advise academic colleagues on enhancing their teaching practice and enriching the student experience through the effective use of digital technologies. This includes Blackboard, the University’s virtual learning environment (VLE), as well as learning capture and online collaborative tools. I also contribute to and lead technology-enhanced learning (TEL) projects at the University of Reading, aligning with the institution’s broader teaching, learning, and strategic initiatives.

My particular interest lies in promoting active learning through student response systems and online collaborative tools, fostering greater student engagement and inclusivity.

Before joining the University’s TEL Team in 2015, I worked as a development editor and supported the design and delivery of fully online courses at the University College of Estate Management (UCEM).
