{"id":10086,"date":"2021-02-23T13:55:53","date_gmt":"2021-02-23T13:55:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support-test-2\/?p=10086"},"modified":"2025-10-01T15:52:54","modified_gmt":"2025-10-01T15:52:54","slug":"gradescope-set-up-a-rubric","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/gradescope-set-up-a-rubric\/","title":{"rendered":"Gradescope: Set up a Rubric"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Once you have\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/?p=9996\">created a Gradescope assignment<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/?p=10003\">set up the Outline<\/a> the marking Rubric for the assignment can be defined.<\/p>\n<p>This will be the responsibility of the module convener, or lead marker for the exam.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Design and plan your marking rubric<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>You are responsible for deciding if there are specific point awards or penalties you want to include, as well as the <strong>wording of any descriptors.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You will construct your rubric as you are marking, by adding rubric items.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are you going to use a <strong>positive or negative scoring<\/strong> rubric?<\/li>\n<li>What will you be awarding or removing marks for?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Your initial rubric will be one item for each of the questions on the outline.
