{"id":10101,"date":"2021-02-23T16:39:00","date_gmt":"2021-02-23T16:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support-test-2\/?p=10101"},"modified":"2026-03-25T14:45:42","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T14:45:42","slug":"gradescope-managing-marks-and-feedback","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/gradescope-managing-marks-and-feedback\/","title":{"rendered":"Gradescope: Managing marks and feedback"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The release of marks and feedback is managed from the Gradescope <strong>Review Grades<\/strong> screen.<\/p>\n<h2>Coursework<\/h2>\n<p>For assessments where you want students to be able to view their marks and feedback, when all marking and moderation is complete you can\u00a0<strong>Publish Grades<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This will enable students to see their feedback inside Gradescope.<\/p>\n<p>See the Gradescope guide\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/guides.gradescope.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/22067099093517-Reviewing-Grades\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reviewing Grades: Publish and notify students<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition you will need to post the marks to Blackboard.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Please note &#8211; Publishing and posting marks<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Publishing and Posting the marks are completely independent of each other.<\/li>\n<li>Marks and feedback are only visible to students in Gradescope when you <strong>Publish Grades<\/strong>.<br \/>\nOnce \u2018Publish Grades\u2019 has been pressed, as soon as a mark is entered in Gradescope the student will be able to view it.<\/li>\n<li>However\u00a0you have to press \u2018Post grades to Blackboard\u2019\u00a0every time you want to send marks to Blackboard.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>Exams<\/h2>\n<p>The situation is different for exams, since you do not want students to be able to see markers&#8217;
