{"id":11915,"date":"2021-12-08T14:10:18","date_gmt":"2021-12-08T14:10:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/?p=11915"},"modified":"2026-02-17T10:31:13","modified_gmt":"2026-02-17T10:31:13","slug":"turnitin-assignment-retrieving-archived-assignments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/turnitin-assignment-retrieving-archived-assignments\/","title":{"rendered":"Turnitin Assignment &#8211; Retrieving Archived Assignments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Whilst courses\/modules on Blackboard remain available for the duration of a student&#8217;s studies, you may find that through special circumstances such as student suspension of studies, exam board requirements or even requests from former students, some older courses have been archived following the five year process of courses on Blackboard.<\/p>\n<p>If this occurs, and you need to access Turnitin assignments, there is an alternative method to having to request DTS open the course and student enrolments again.<\/p>\n<pre>Any available Blackboard Course might include an <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/turnitin-lti-expired-courses\/\">Expired Turnitin Class<\/a>. These simply require reopening if any further action is needed.\n\nYou can also edit these in TurnitinUK.com\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bb.reading.ac.uk\/bbcswebdav\/xid-26148482_4\" alt=\"Showing the expired class messages in TurnitinUK\" width=\"1883\" height=\"191\" \/><\/pre>\n<h2>Access Papers using TurnitinUK<\/h2>\n<p>Whilst we integrate our Turnitin Assignments with Blackboard, Turnitin provide an external site which mirrors the assignments. Whilst we never will use this for assignment submissions, it can be helpful to view Turnitin assignments outside of the Blackboard interface and course usage.<\/p>\n<p>You can access all courses you have been registered as an instructor or student for and look at the submissions within these.<\/p>\n<p>Go to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.turnitinuk.com\/\">https:\/\/www.turnitinuk.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone \" src=\"https:\/\/www.bb.reading.ac.uk\/bbcswebdav\/xid-26148485_4\" width=\"382\" height=\"556\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You will need to login using the email address registered with Turnitin .\u00a0 For most staff this will be your University username email ab123456@reading.ac.uk.<\/p>\n<p>Your password however will be different to your Reading account, and so unless you have previously , you should use <strong>Forgot your password <\/strong>so you can reset it.<\/p>\n<p>Once logged in, make sure that <strong>Instructor\u00a0<\/strong>is showing at the top of the page.
