menu, which is found by clicking on the three dots in the top right-hand corner of the Course Content area.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-22775 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2023\/04\/8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"726\" height=\"310\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Batch Edit is the first option on this menu.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 2: Select Items to Edit<\/h3>\n<p>The Batch Edit page will have a list of all the items on the course.<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha\">\n<li>You can select the check boxes of all the items you wish to &#8220;batch edit&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>Click on any container&#8217;s (i.e. Learning module) name or icon to open it.<\/li>\n<li>All items in a selected container (i.e. Folder) will also be selected.<\/li>\n<li>It is possible to <strong>deselect<\/strong> any of those items as desired.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-20123\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2023\/04\/Batch-Edit-2.13.jpg\" alt=\"Screenshot of selected items on batch edit page.\" width=\"530\" height=\"423\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Step 3: Select Edit Option<\/h3>\n<p>Once you have selected all the required items <strong>scroll to the bottom of the page<\/strong> and select one of the three options Edit Dates, Edit visibility or Delete.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-20109\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2023\/04\/Batch-Edit-2.12.jpg\" alt=\"Screenshot of batch edit page with the three edit types highlighted. \" width=\"973\" height=\"311\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2023\/04\/Batch-Edit-2.12.jpg 973w, https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2023\/04\/Batch-Edit-2.12-768x245.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 973px) 100vw, 973px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Batch Edit Options<\/h2>\n<p>Once you have selected the items, you need to select the time of batch Edit you wish to perform.\u00a0 The options are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#visible\">Edit visibility<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#date\">Edit dates<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#delete\">Delete items<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a id=\"visible\"><\/a>Edit Visibility<\/h3>\n<p>As you select the items a counter at the bottom left-hand side of the page will add the number of items selected.\u00a0 On the bottom right-hand corner of the page use the Edit Selection drop down list to select <strong>Edit visibility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A pop-up window will appear with the option Hidden from students selected.\u00a0 Click on the radio button for Visible to student, then click <strong>Save Visibility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15298\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2023\/04\/Batch-Edit-4a.jpg\" alt=\"Screenshot of change and save visibility window\" width=\"451\" height=\"206\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2023\/04\/Batch-Edit-4a.jpg 451w, https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2023\/04\/Batch-Edit-4a-150x69.jpg 150w, https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2023\/04\/Batch-Edit-4a-366x167.jpg 366w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 451px) 100vw, 451px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A success banner will appear at the top of the page.\u00a0 When you return to the Course Content the items will be visible to students<\/p>\n<p>Once selected follow the same steps of selecting &#8220;Edit visibility&#8221;, make your change then &#8220;Save Visibility&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"date\"><\/a>Edit dates<\/h3>\n<p>There are three choices when editing dates.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><a href=\"#option1\">Option 1: Change dates based on course start<\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><a href=\"#option2\">Option 2: Change dates by number of days<\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><a href=\"#option3\">Option 3: Change to specific date and\/or time<\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><a id=\"option1\"><\/a>Option 1: Change dates based on course start<\/h4>\n<p>Option 1 will edit dates for the selected items using the course&#8217;s start date.<\/p>\n<p>If you upload a previously created course into a new one, you can adjust all the dates in the new course to match the same cadence that the previously created course had.\u00a0For example: You reuse content from the previous semester when your course&#8217;s start date was August 19, 2019. Your course&#8217;s new start date is January 6, 2020.
