Content is organised in Learning Modules or Folders which negates the need for a separate course menu. A Learning Module or Folder is the equivalent of a content area in Blackboard Learn Original.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:6px\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Calendar<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Calendar tab opens the <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/2021\/07\/20\/blackboard-learn-the-calendar\/\">Blackboard Calendar<\/a> for the course. Calendar functionality is unchanged.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-ast-global-color-5-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-ast-global-color-5-background-color has-background\" \/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-8\" style=\"padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Announcements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Use the Announcements tab to view and create <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/2023\/06\/13\/ultra-announcements\/\">Announcements<\/a>. Any Announcements created on the course will be listed here.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:6px\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Discussions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Any Discussions created on the course will be listed under this tab.&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/key-topic-discussions\/\">Discussions<\/a> can still be created and display anywhere within course content.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-ast-global-color-5-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-ast-global-color-5-background-color has-background\" \/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-12\" style=\"padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gradebook<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Gradebook tab replaces the Grade Centre (for staff) or My Marks &amp; Feedback (for students). This is the access point to view, mark and manage all assessments in the course. See <a href=\"https:\/\/help.blackboard.com\/Learn\/Instructor\/Ultra\/Grade\/Navigate_Grading#ultra_access\">the Blackboard help page Navigate Grading<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:6px\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Messages<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A record of Messages sent to the students on a course are listed under this tab.&nbsp; Students can only receive and not send messages.&nbsp; Staff can send a new message from here.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-ast-global-color-5-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-ast-global-color-5-background-color has-background\" \/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-16\" style=\"padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Analytics<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Analytics tab provides access to reports on student activity in the course. The Gradebook (top menu) is for accessing marks and feedback.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learning Materials\n<ul>\n<li>This contains all the learning materials listed by week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-ast-global-color-5-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-ast-global-color-5-background-color has-background\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>In the top right-hand of the course content area there is a link to the course settings, student preview and course search.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-23\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"231\" height=\"136\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2025\/05\/25-26-course-settings-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26588\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<ul>\n<li>Course Settings &#8211; contains options to make the course available to students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/2023\/05\/22\/ultra-student-preview\/\">Student Preview<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Search Function &#8211; search for content of the course.
