{"id":16281,"date":"2023-06-07T15:18:58","date_gmt":"2023-06-07T15:18:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/?p=16281"},"modified":"2024-09-03T09:39:21","modified_gmt":"2024-09-03T09:39:21","slug":"ultra-course-staff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/ultra-course-staff\/","title":{"rendered":"Ultra: Course Staff list"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>When an Ultra course is opened, Course Content displays in the centre of the page, and a list of Course Staff is on the side of the page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#staff\">Course Staff list<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#primary\">Primary Instructors<\/a>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#set\">Set Primary Instructor(s)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#student\">Student View of Course Staff list<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"staff\">Course Staff list<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"380\" height=\"290\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2024\/09\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22765\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a few rules which dictate which staff display here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Only <strong>instructors<\/strong> on the course display under Course Staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only two instructor names will display; the option &#8220;Show more&#8221; will reveal all instructors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The first two instructors alphabetically will display, unless a <strong>Primary Instructor<\/strong> has been set.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note in Organisations instructors are known as leaders. Leaders will follow the same rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"primarystaff\">Primary Instructors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It is possible to set some instructors as Primary.&nbsp; This is only an option for staff with the Instructor role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Primary instructors these will appear in the Course Staff list, it will only ever display two names. If there are more than two, it will list the first two Primary Staff alphabetically. If no staff are tagged a primary it will list the first two instructors alphabetically. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To clarify:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>No Primary instructor &#8211; Course Staff will list the first two instructors alphabetically.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One instructor set as Primary &#8211; Course Staff will list one member of staff, the Primary Instructor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two or more instructors set as Primary &#8211; Course Staff will list the first two Primary instructors alphabetically.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In all cases the &#8220;Show More&#8221; option will reveal all instructors on the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"set\">Set Primary Instructors<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To set an instructor on the course as a Primary instructor follow these three steps: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 1<\/strong>: Go to Class Register in the Details and Actions menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"308\" height=\"129\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2023\/06\/Course-staff-3.jpg\" alt=\"screenshot of Details &amp;
