This may include multiple part or flexible pattern modes of submission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These recommended workflows will support you through the assessment cycle process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#setup\">Setting up assignments<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#edit\">Editing assignments<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#nonsub\">Emailing non-submitters<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#moderation\">Enabling Moderation within 15 days with anonymity on<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#marks\">Revealing Marks and Feedback to students<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#refresh\">Refreshing inbox data<\/a> (including resync grade)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"setup\"><\/a>Setting up an Assignment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When setting up a submission point the following workflow is recommend:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Go to the Assessment Learning Module in your course.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Name the Assignment Folder.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the place where you wish the submission point to appear click on the purple plus sign<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From the menu select Content Market, find the Turnitin LTI tool in the Content Market<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open the Turnitin LTI Tool to create the assignment\n<ul>\n<li>Add assignment name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add point possible<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add Start Date<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add Due Date<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add Feedback Release Date<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set the Optional settings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support-staff\/2023\/06\/26\/ultra-set-up-a-turnitin-assignment-2\/#rubric\">Ultra guide: Set up a Turnitin Assignment<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Post-deadline submission point<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For Schools which set up two submission points &#8211; for on-time and post-deadline submissions &#8211; the on-time assignment should be set not to allow late submissions.&nbsp;The start date for the post-deadline submission point should then be set to be the same as the official assignment deadline date and time. This means the submission point will open for submissions when the deadline is reached, and students can no longer submit to the on-time submission point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Start and Due date can not be the same time in Turnitin, therefore, set the post-deadline due date as 1 minute later than the official deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"324\" height=\"307\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2023\/12\/Turnitin-dates-image.jpg\" alt=\"screenshots of date settings in Turnitin\" class=\"wp-image-18426\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"edit\"><\/a>Editing an Assignment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need to edit assignment settings, this may be done via <strong>Settings<\/strong> in the Turnitin Assignment Inbox, or in Blackboard by choosing <strong>Edit<\/strong> from the three dot menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"761\" height=\"398\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2023\/12\/Edit.jpg\" alt=\"screenshot of Turnitin submission point with were to edit\" class=\"wp-image-18423\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/turnitin-lti-edit-an-assignment\/\">Guide on where to edit assignment setting<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"nonsub\"><\/a>Non-submitters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"nonsubmitters\">\n<p>In Turnitin it is possible to download a Submission List which names each student and whether they have submitted Yes\/No.<\/p>\n<p>When anonymity is on, the names of students who have submitted are anonymised, but the non-submitters are named.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12497\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2022\/03\/Anon8-1.jpg\" alt=\"Submission List downloadable from Assignment Inbox\" width=\"299\" height=\"207\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2022\/03\/Anon8-1.jpg 299w, https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2022\/03\/Anon8-1-150x104.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 299px) 100vw, 299px\" \/><\/figure><p><\/p>\n<p>The words &#8220;New Submission&#8221; will appear in the Gradebook for students who have submitted, this also happens with anonymity turned on.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"moderation\"><\/a>Moderation within 15 day TAT when anonymity is on<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/2022\/03\/08\/turnitin-lti-anonymous-marking\/\">Anonymous marking<\/a> works differently in Turnitin than for a Blackboard assignment, and this means that moderation is possible prior to the lifting of anonymity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With Turnitin the <strong>following can be performed when Anonymity is on:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>You can<strong> order<\/strong> by any of the column headings including <strong>by Grade even when anonymity is on<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can <strong>search the inbox<\/strong> for information in any of the columns, including Paper ID, submission title etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can download a<strong> submissions list<\/strong> where the non-submitters are named.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"marks\"><\/a>Release Marks to Students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Marks are automatically posted and visible to students on the Feedback Release date unless the submission-point\/column has been hidden from students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If anonymity is on this is when the marks will be visible in the Gradebook. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"refresh\"><\/a>Refresh inbox data<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The refresh button allows you to update the inbox without needing to reload the webpage.
