Please read this guidance as there may be some caveats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#export\">Export a Group Set<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#import\">Import a Group Set<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Please note<\/strong>: All Groups are in Group Sets in Ultra. A Group Set can contain one or many groups. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-ast-global-color-5-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-ast-global-color-5-background-color has-background\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"export\"><b><a id=\"export\"><\/a><\/b>Export Groups<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Exporting a group allows you to save a copy of the group set (names, descriptions and number of groups) and the membership of those groups. You can export groups to other Blackboard courses and use them as a fresh set to enrol students to, or you can export both groups and group members, however there would need to be the same student enrolments on the course you are importing to in order to retain membership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Locate existing group and use the dot menu to select Export<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure page use the dot menu to select Export again, once in the export from groups panel open the <strong>Export tab<\/strong>, the groups will be listed there.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure file for the group to your local device (it will be a .zip file)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unzip the file which contains .csv spreadsheets, with one being the groups and the other being members (if doing both)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next steps will be going to a Blackboard course and importing.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-ast-global-color-5-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-ast-global-color-5-background-color has-background\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"import\"><a id=\"import\"><\/a>Import a Group Set and Membership<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The import Group function can be use to import groups that have been exported from another course. It is also possible to download template csv files for group sets and group memberships, populate these with your group set information in excel and then import into Blackboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two main steps to Importing a group set into a Blackboard:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Import the Group Set<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Import the Group Members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Import the Group Set<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Click import group set<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" Group Sets panel will open. \n<ul>\n<li>If you have the Group Set csv file ready (i.e. exported it form another course) select upload file <strong>(a)<\/strong> and choose a groups.csv file from your local device.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you do not have a csv file ready, download the Group Sets template<strong> (b)<\/strong> add the group sets information in accordance to the template formatting, then save the file as a csv and upload the file <strong>(a)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"444\" emailed when the groups are imported, follow the link in the email or refresh the page if still on Blackboard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open the imported group and make any edits as required, such as<strong> change the group set title<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-ast-global-color-5-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-ast-global-color-5-background-color has-background\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Import group membership<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have imported the group set or created a group set on the Blackboard course you can import members to that group set. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Open your new group set and click on the <strong>import group members<\/strong> icon in the top right-hand corner of the group <strong>(a)<\/strong> to upload the membership file<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have not created the membership file, download the membership template <strong>(b)<\/strong>, add members in excel (please
