(Only for the time the assignment is anonymous.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2023\/10\/Anonymous-student-submisison-in-Gradebook.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"747\" height=\"109\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2023\/10\/Anonymous-student-submisison-in-Gradebook.jpg\" alt=\"Anonymous student submission in the Gradebook\" class=\"wp-image-17661\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2023\/10\/Anonymous-student-submisison-in-Gradebook.jpg 747w, https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2023\/10\/Anonymous-student-submisison-in-Gradebook-150x22.jpg 150w, https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2023\/10\/Anonymous-student-submisison-in-Gradebook-366x53.jpg 366w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 747px) 100vw, 747px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Names are only revealed after Post Marks is clicked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Some assignment features are not available<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It is not currently possible to use anonymous marking with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Group assignments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Peer Review.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When anonymous marking is enabled on an assignment:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Final marks cannot be overridden<\/strong> (this is the ability to manually assign a mark that is different to the one entered during marking, for example, applied by a rubric).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>you <strong>cannot send customised non-submitter reminders<\/strong> &#8211; you can only send the default Blackboard reminder (see <a href=\"#reminders\">&#8216;Sending non-submission reminders&#8217;<\/a> below).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/2023\/05\/23\/ultra-progress-tracking\/\">Progress Tracking<\/a> is disabled <\/strong>on the assignment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is not possible to enable Class conversations on the assignment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Limitation when marking using Rubrics<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Be aware: <\/strong>If you attach a rubric to the assignment this is used to calculate the mark for the submission and <strong>you cannot manually adjust the mark (use Override Mark) until anonymity is lifted after marks are posted<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, there is not an option to use a <strong>non-marking rubric<\/strong> (to give only qualitative feedback). If you are <strong>using a &#8216;Points&#8217; rubric and entered zeros for all criteria as a workaround to this, a mark of zero is entered<\/strong> for the submission and you cannot change this until the marks are posted to lift anonymity. This makes it impractical for marking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>recommendation <\/strong>is <strong>only attach a rubric<\/strong> to an anonymous assignment <strong>if you do want it to calculate the final mark<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Marking with anonymity switched on<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can access submissions via the Gradebook &#8211; names are revealed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need to make a note of a specific submission in order that you or a colleague can refer to it later &#8211; including once anonymity has been lifted &#8211; you should <strong>use the Submission Receipt ID<\/strong>, not the Anonymous Student ID.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"reminders\">Sending non-submission reminders<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When anonymity is enabled, <strong>you are not able to see which students have submitted to an assignment, but are still able to send a non-submisison reminder<\/strong>.
