One student in each group submits work on behalf of the whole group. You will assign marks and feedback for the whole group and you can adjust individual student&#8217;s marks as necessary after the group mark is entered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#assigning\">Assigning groups to an assignment<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#identify\">How to identify group content items<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p> Please note: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Groups need to be created on a course before they can be used for assessment or release conditions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Anonymous Marking <strong>is not currently possible<\/strong> with Blackboard Group Assignments. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is <strong>not possible<\/strong> to bulk download all group submissions in one action, however, you can download each group individually.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integration created [IC] Blackboard submission points can be configured as a group Assignment. There is no need to create a separate submission point.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"assigning\">Assigning groups to an assignment <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When setting up or configuring a Blackboard Assignment, you\u2019ll find an <strong>Assigned groups <\/strong>option in the&nbsp;<strong>Additional Tools<\/strong>&nbsp;section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2026\/07\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28882\" width=\"365\" height=\"433\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Click the drop-down menu to select one of the Group Sets that have been created on the course. <strong>Groups must be visible to students before they will appear in the list.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2026\/07\/Picture3-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28886\" width=\"435\" height=\"230\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be shown the number of groups in each set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have selected the appropriate Group Set, you can <strong>Save<\/strong> your settings or continue to edit them as necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"identify\">How to identify group content items<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can tell a content item has groups attached by the blue link showing \u201cX groups\u201d. This link shows you how many groups are in the attached Group Set.
