Please be aware that <strong>some<\/strong> <strong>question types are not in Ultra<\/strong> <strong>courses<\/strong>, any questions in these types will not copy. Please see our <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/tests-in-blackboard-ultra-key-changes\/\">guide on Tests in Blackboard Ultra: Key changes<\/a> for further details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guide content:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#checklist\">Before you copy your test<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#copyoptions\">Copy Tests Options<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#check\">Check question settings<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"checklist\"><\/a>Before your copy a test<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1: Ensure the Test is deployed on your original course<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Tests in Blackboard Learn original are created and saved in Test area and then \u201cdeployed\u201d in a content area.&nbsp;To use the Ultra copy content function to copy your tests they will need to be deployed in a content area on the course so that you can find them in the copy item page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2: Be aware that of questions types not supported in Ultra?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>These question types are not available in Ultra and will not copy:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th>Question Type<\/th><th>How it copies into Ultra<\/th><th>Ultra possible alternative<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>File Response<\/td><td>Does not copy<\/td><td>Essay Question<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Opinion Scale\/Likert<\/td><td>Does not copy<\/td><td>Use this question type in <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/form-survey-tool\/\">Ultra form<\/a><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Ordering<\/td><td>Does not copy<\/td><td>Matching Question<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Quiz Bowl<\/td><td>Does not copy<\/td><td>&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>These question types are not available in Ultra but will copy as a different question type:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th>Original <\/th><th>Ultra<\/th><th>Copy Notes<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>Either\/Or<\/td><td>True\/False Question<\/td><td>Text options (Yes\/No, Right\/Wrong, Agree\/Disagree) available in Ultra. <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Short Answer<\/td><td>Essay Question<\/td><td>&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Multiple Answer<\/td><td>Multiple Choice<\/td><td>It is possible to assign multiple correct answers to MCQs in Ultra so these will copy correctly. Edit question to specify how many options students can select. <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3: Consider which tests are using pools<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In original Pools are used in Test as<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Question Sets or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Random Block sets<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When copying a test that uses a Pool the Pool with convert to an Ultra Question Bank.&nbsp;If <strong>multiple tests use one Pool<\/strong> copy them all at the same time to avoid creating duplicate Question Banks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4: Are all your questions in a Pool<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In original Pools are found in the Tests, Surveys and Pools area. If you keep all your questions in Pools you may wish to copy the whole Pool into Ultra.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pools in original are Question Banks in Ultra. When using the copy function you will find Pools in the Question Banks folder. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: var(--ast-global-color-2);font-size: 1.88235rem;font-weight: 600\"><a id=\"copyoptions\"><\/a>Copying Options<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Copying Tests from an original Blackboard course uses the Copy function in the same way and copying form Ultra to Ultra. See our <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/copy-a-test-or-question-bank-pool-in-original\/\">guide Copy a Test or Question Bank to Ultra<\/a> for step by step guidance on the copy process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are three options when moving your test questions to your Blackboard Ultra course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Using the Copy function to copy a whole Test (deployed test in content area)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using the Copy function to copy the Test questions as a (pool) Question Ban<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using the Export\/Import function<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Export the question pool in Blackboard original and Import it as a Question Bank into your Ultra course. See our <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/import-an-original-course-pool-as-an-ultra-course-question-bank\/\">guide Export\/Import Question Banks<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"check\"><\/a>Post-copy Checks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Some test and test question settings will not copy into Ultra Courses.&nbsp; We recommend that you check the test via the Student Preview function to confirm that it has been set up as required. What will\/won&#8217;t copy from my Original modules<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What will or won&#8217;t copy from Original module Tests:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th>Function<\/th><th>Outcome after copying<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>Question and answer text<\/td><td>Copies successfully. You may notice differences in formatting.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Images\/files within question text<\/td><td>Copies successfully.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Text feedback for correct\/incorrect answers<\/td><td>Copies successfully.
