{"id":19943,"date":"2024-03-21T16:32:07","date_gmt":"2024-03-21T16:32:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/?p=19943"},"modified":"2025-05-14T14:12:04","modified_gmt":"2025-05-14T14:12:04","slug":"how-are-staff-enrolled-onto-a-blackboard-course","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/how-are-staff-enrolled-onto-a-blackboard-course\/","title":{"rendered":"How are staff enrolled onto a Blackboard course?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>When courses for the coming academic year are created in Blackboard, Module Convenors who are listed against a module in RISIS will be automatically enrolled on the corresponding Blackboard course, and given the role of <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/ultra-course-staff\/#primary\">Primary Instructor<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staff enrolled in the previous year&#8217;s course with the role of Instructor, Teaching Assistant, Course Builder and Extrernal Examiner &#8211; Ultra are automatically enrolled onto the course for the coming year when it is created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other staff teaching or supporting module delivery can be <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/manage-and-enrol-users\/\">manually enrolled onto the Blackboard course<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Programme Administrators will be able to view or enrol themselves onto modules in the School which they support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are teaching on a module and cannot see the course for that module in Blackboard, to be enrolled, please ask:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>the Module Convenor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>or the Programme Administrator.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When courses for the coming academic year are created in Blackboard, Module Convenors who are listed against a module in RISIS will be automatically enrolled on the corresponding Blackboard course, and given the role of Primary Instructor.
