{"id":20080,"date":"2024-03-26T09:56:51","date_gmt":"2024-03-26T09:56:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/?p=20080"},"modified":"2025-03-03T13:45:36","modified_gmt":"2025-03-03T13:45:36","slug":"schools-with-single-submission-points-turnitin-assignments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/schools-with-single-submission-points-turnitin-assignments\/","title":{"rendered":"Schools with single submission points: Turnitin assignments"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Programme Administrators should create summative Turnitin assignments within the appropriate folder inside the \u2018Assessment\u2019 learning module e.g. Assessment &gt; Assignment 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This guide takes you through the settings you should apply when creating a summative Turnitin assignment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For help with the mechanics of creating a Turnitin assignment, please see&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/ultra-set-up-a-turnitin-assignment-2\/\">Set up a Turnitin Assignment<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Submission point settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Create Turnitin assignments within the appropriate folder inside the \u2018Assessment\u2019 learning module e.g. Assessment &gt; Assignment 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Due date: official due date and time<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feedback release date: due date + 15 working days<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Late submissions: Yes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Similarity Reports visible: Yes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Generate Similarity Reports: Immediately, can resubmit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Anonymous marking: Yes by default<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Markers and administrators can access submitted work via the Gradebook, or by going directly to the Turnitin assignment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the Feedback Release date<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Anonymity is lifted automatically &#8211; all student names are revealed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Marks are automatically posted to the Gradebook.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students can access their marks &amp; feedback via Turnitin, and also via the Gradebook. Therefore any work marked after this date is potentially immediately visible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Releasing marks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>All marks are released on the Feedback Release Date. You cannot release marks only for some students. Any marks entered after the Feedback Release Date are immediately visible to students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Setting the assignment visibility to \u2018Hidden\u2019 also hides the corresponding Gradebook column.
