a message can be set to these students via the message icon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(d) Responses most replied to<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(e) Top participants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-ast-global-color-5-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-ast-global-color-5-background-color has-background\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"mark\">Marks &amp; Participation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Marks &amp; Participation tab will open in the student list.  Where the student status is<strong> Entry made<\/strong>, click on the number to mark to open the marking page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the marking page you will see the Discussion and marking options. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>(f) The discussion will appear in the centre of the page with the selected student&#8217;s responses highlighted in purple. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(g) Discussion Analysis on the right-hand side will show analysis under the headings Critical Thinking and Word Variation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(h) Click on the rubric icon to mark using the rubric<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(i) Click on the Plus icon to add feedback<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(j) Click on the arrow to move on to the next student <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"950\" height=\"884\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2024\/07\/mark-discussion-6a.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21793\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2024\/07\/mark-discussion-6a.png 950w, https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2024\/07\/mark-discussion-6a-768x715.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 950px) 100vw, 950px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-ast-global-color-5-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-ast-global-color-5-background-color has-background\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>For further information regarding the <strong>Discussion Analysis<\/strong> please see the <a href=\"https:\/\/help.blackboard.com\/Learn\/Instructor\/Ultra\/Interact\/Discussions\/View_Discussion_Performance\">Blackboard Help guide View Discussion Performance and Analytics <\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"rubric\">Marking with a Rubric<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To mark with a Rubric, click on the Rubric icon on the top right-hand corner (c). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A new Rubric panel will open on the right-hand side of the screen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>(k) Show descriptions &#8211; this option will show the descriptions for each criteria on the rubric. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(l) Select the level on the criteria, which the student&#8217;s work has met &#8211; this will add the score to the submission total. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(m) Submission score total from the rubric &#8211; if using a score of zero override this mark. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1067\" height=\"639\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2024\/07\/mark-discussion-7a.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21794\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2024\/07\/mark-discussion-7a.png 1067w, https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2024\/07\/mark-discussion-7a-768x460.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1067px) 100vw, 1067px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-ast-global-color-5-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-ast-global-color-5-background-color has-background\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"feedback\">Add Marks and Feedback <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If not marking with a rubric, you can add the marks directly into the pill shaped field, alternatively you can add them in the Gradebook Marks tab. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Feedback is added in the marking screen, click on the plus sign icon (i). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"234\" height=\"68\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2025\/02\/image-5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25496\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-ast-global-color-5-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-ast-global-color-5-background-color has-background\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>The feedback panel will open, and offer all the options available the the text editor.
