This will make posts anonymous, including entries in the activity panel and post comments. It is possible for the padlet owner to then toggle settings at any point, to reveal the student names (for example, after the activity, to identify a student post you wish to follow up, or during an activity, to ascertain which students have been engaging). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>See: <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-admin\/post.php?post=28147&amp;action=edit#hide\">Setting Post and Comments to hide names<\/a><br><br><strong>Option 2: <\/strong>There may be scenarios where you, the padlet owner, do not want to identify individuals at any point, in which case you will need a Padlet &#8216;avatars only&#8217; set up. All posts and comments will be attributed to this, instead of student&#8217;s real name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Step 1: Adjust the share settings:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Open your Padlet \u2192 Share panel \u2192 Set &#8216;Visitors with a link&#8217; to Writer,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure &#8216;Require visitors to log in&#8217; is OFF (this should be OFF by default),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy the url, go to your Course and add the Padlet as a Blackboard <em>Web Link<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2025\/11\/instructions.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27818\" width=\"293\" height=\"573\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Please be aware, this set-up means students will be able to pass the padlet joining link onto external users who can also contribute to the board (unless you change the share permission to &#8216;no access&#8217; after the activity).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Step 2: Tell your students to open the padlet <strong>using a private browser window<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Right click the padlet<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"283\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/TEL-Support-Staff\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2025\/11\/padlet-rpivate.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27816\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Accept the animal avatar. Be aware, students are given the option to change how they would like to be identified on the padlet.
