WC06 Physical entity submission<\/td>Physical entity submission<\/td>Weighted Column<\/td>Blackboard or Turnitin Assignment;
or physical submission only.<\/td>		Turnitin \/ Blackboard Assignment \/ Gradebook<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Includes any type of assessment where the student hands in\/exhibits a physical entity e.g. artwork, models, specimens, posters, physical notebooks, field notes, lab books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There may also be a requirement for electronic submission, for instance of a coversheet or receipt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feedback should be provided online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anonymous marking is supported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There are several options for dealing with physical submissions, depending on the nature of the work being assessed, and markers’ preferred feedback tools. For example, in a School which primarily uses Turnitin to provide feedback, it makes sense to use Turnitin also for physical submissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turnitin assignment – anonymous submission:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • Programme administrator creates a Turnitin assignment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Student submits a digital submission sheet to Turnitin to obtain a Paper ID.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Student adds the Paper ID to the physical hand-in coversheet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Student attaches the coversheet to the Physical entity prior to manual submission at Support Centre.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Feedback is provided via Turnitin – markers use the Paper ID to match physical and electronic submissions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Turnitin assignment – named submission:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    • Programme administrator creates a Turnitin assignment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • No online submission is required by the student.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Student adds their name and student ID to the paper coversheet, and attaches this to the physical entity prior to manual submission at Support Centre.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Feedback is provided via Turnitin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Blackboard assignment – anonymous submission<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
        \n
      • Programme administrator creates a Blackboard assignment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Student submits a digital submission sheet to Blackboard to obtain a Submission receipt number.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

        • No online submission is required by the student.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Student adds their name and student ID to the paper coversheet, and attaches this to the physical entity prior to manual submission at Support Centre.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Feedback is provided via the Blackboard assignment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Blackboard Gradebook column – anonymous submission<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
            \n
          • Programme administrator creates a column in the Blackboard Gradebook.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Student submits a digital submission sheet to Blackboard to obtain a Submission receipt number.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Student adds their Submission receipt number to the physical hand-in coversheet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Student attaches the coversheet to the Physical entity prior to manual submission at Support Centre.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Feedback can be provided on paper (for instance, entered directly onto a Maths hard copy submission). When marking is complete, the name on the physical coversheet can be revealed, allowing marks to be entered into the Grade Centre column.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            Late penalties:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

            To track late submissions use the date and time for the manual submission of the physical entity in the drop box provided at the Support Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
