When looking at a student\u2019s paper in the Turnitin\u00a0Feedback Studio<\/strong>\u00a0you will see the blue\u00a0instructor feedback<\/strong>\u00a0toolbar on the right hand side.<\/p>\n

\"Highlighting<\/p>\n

Adding QuickMarks<\/h2>\n

Quickmarks are re-usable comments<\/strong>\u00a0that have been saved in your personal library.<\/p>\n

You can either:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Open the QuickMarks section of the right-hand panel.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Drag an existing QuickMark onto the appropriate place in the student\u2019s paper.<\/p>\n

OR<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Left Click anywhere on\u00a0the\u00a0paper,\u00a0<\/strong>then\u00a0select the QuickMarks tool.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Choose which\u00a0QuickMark set<\/strong> you want to use. Click the name of the set displayed at the top of the pop-up to open the drop down menu.<\/p>\n

\"Adding<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The QuickMarks available in a particular set are displayed. Click on the QuickMark you want to insert<\/p>\n

\"QuickMark<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The QuickMark appears in the paper,\u00a0check the text<\/strong>\u00a0and scroll to the bottom to add\u00a0a custom comment<\/strong><\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Click on the\u00a0Delete<\/strong>\u00a0bin icon, to remove a QuickMark.<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If you add a custom comment, a speech bubble is added next to the QuickMark title<\/p>\n

\"Custom<\/p>\n

Adding a Comment<\/h2>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Left Click<\/strong>\u00a0anywhere on the paper, then select the\u00a0Comment<\/strong>\u00a0tool.<\/p>\n

\"Where<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Type your comment<\/strong>\u00a0in the popup text box.<\/p>\n

\"Type<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You can convert the Comment into a QuickMark if you plan on re-using it.<\/p>\n

a.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Click on the\u00a0Convert to QuickMark<\/strong>\u00a0link.<\/p>\n

b.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Give it a\u00a0Title<\/strong>\u00a0and choose which a QuickMark\u00a0Set<\/strong>\u00a0to add it to.<\/p>\n

c.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Click\u00a0Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Highlighted text and add a Comment or QuickMark<\/h2>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Click and drag over the text you want to highlight<\/strong>. When you release your mouse button the inline feedback pop up appears.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Click either the\u00a0QuickMark<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0Comment<\/strong>\u00a0button to associate this to the highlighted text.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In the QuickMark or Comment pop up box, click the\u00a0Colour<\/strong>\u00a0button in the top right corner to choose the colour of the highlight.<\/p>\n

Link a QuickMark or Comment to a Rubric criterion<\/h2>\n

If you are using a Rubric, you can associate your QuickMark or Comment to the appropriate Rubric criterion. Click on the QuickMark or Comment to open it.<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Click on\u00a0\u2018Assign Criterion\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Pick the required criterion<\/strong>\u00a0from the list shown.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0A Rubric icon is added to the title of the QuickMark or Comment<\/strong>\u00a0to show it has been added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

If using both functions “Assign to Rubric” and “Convert to QuickMark” please convert to a QM before assigning to a Rubric.<\/p>\n

These are text comments which can be placed to appear directly on the page around the original text.<\/p>\n
