SUMMARY:Introducing the Academic Tutor System
DESCRIPTION:Following detailed research and consultation\, the Personal Tutor System (PTS) Steering Group made 10 recommendations designed to address identified issues with the current PTS and improve the student learning experience at Reading by launching an Academic Tutor System (ATS)\, delivered in partnership with professional services\, which is fit for purpose\, engaging and beneficial for both students and staff.\nFollowing approval by Senate in March 2018\, the ATS Steering Group (formally the PTS Steering Group) have started the process to introduce the ATS for initial launch in September 2018 and full implementation and evaluation by July 2020. This briefing session will explain more about the ATS and plans to introduce the system. The session will provide an overview of the main changes to academic and pastoral support\, including staff roles and responsibilities\, and share guidance and supporting materials to assist academic and professional services staff to support the introduction of the ATS in their context. This session aligns with A2\, A4\, A5\, V1\, V2 and V3 of the UKPSF.
