SUMMARY:Professor Shirley Reynolds – Do More that Matters: Brief Behavioural Activation for Depressed Adolescents. Hosted at the University of Reading.
DESCRIPTION:Behavioural activation (BA) is an effective treatment for depression in adults and can be adapted as a low-intensity treatment for depression in adolescents\, providing an alternative to current evidence-based psychological therapies. It can be delivered in schools within Mental Health Support Teams and in the context of multi-disciplinary CAMHs may also be an appropriate part of a stepped care pathway for depression in adolescents. Brief BA is simple to explain and to understand and engagement in treatment is excellent. It is acceptable to young people and their parents and leads to reliable and clinically significant reductions in symptoms of depression and improved functioning. Brief BA can be used in schools and clinics and delivered by a range of professionals\, who do not require specialist qualifications or extensive training \n  \nBook Here \nMore Information\n  \nThis workshop will run from 9:30 until 4.30 pm\, with a 45- minute break for lunch\, at a cost of £130. \nGroup bookings of 4 workshops or more will receive a 10% discount (£117.00 per session)\, and 10 workshops or more will receive a 15% discount (£110.50 per session)*. \nUniversity of Reading Students (current and graduate) will receive a 20% discount upon verification of a valid student number.
