40 former students reunited on Whiteknights Campus to renew friendships, 50 years after their time at Reading.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Last year, half a century after graduating, 40 Reading graduates returned to the University to reconnect with old friends, revisit familiar places and reminisce about their time at Reading. CONNECTED spoke with some of the attendees to find out about their day back on campus.<\/p>\n

The reunion began on 29 April at an old stomping ground. Terry said: \u201cWe all met on the London Road campus to be shown around the Museum of English Rural Life (MERL), which was formerly the home of St. Andrews Hall.<\/p>\n

\u201cSt Andrew\u2019s Hall was the place that brought us all together in the late 1960\u2019s and early 1970\u2019s.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“It was sad to see that the building, which ceased to be an accommodation hall in 2000, was no longer operating as a hall of residence, but it was fascinating to see the range of exhibits housed in the MERL.<\/p>\n

\"group\u201cThe following day, we had a tour of Whiteknights Campus, exploring the Henley Business School, the Palmer Building, the Students\u2019 Union and the Library. Most of the group had also studied agriculture, so we enjoyed a tour of the agriculture building with current academics.\u201d<\/p>\n
