We are delighted to announce that the Celebration of Volunteering is back for 2025 and there’s still time to nominate someone who you think should be awarded for the great work they are doing.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Celebration of Volunteering brings together alumni, current students, University staff and community partners to award, showcase and celebrate those who have given up their time to volunteer for the University, in a particular field, or for their community.<\/p>\n

\"\"A celebration event will be taking place on Thursday 1<\/strong> May 2025<\/strong>, at which the Alumni and Supporter Volunteer of the Year award will be presented. This prestigious award will recognise alumni and supporters who have gone above and beyond in their volunteering work, whether that volunteering is in support of the University, a particular field, or their local community.<\/p>\n

The event will also include an exhibition showcasing the variety of interesting and impactful volunteering opportunities that alumni, supporters, students and staff are involved in.<\/p>\n

Rachel Dean, Alumni Volunteering Officer, said: \u201cVolunteering is so important within communities. Helping others whether that is through education, looking after the environment, or supporting a charity, makes such a difference to people\u2019s lives \u2013 as well as offering fulfilment to the volunteer\u2019s life. We\u2019d love to know how you are making a difference within your community and to celebrate this with you.\u201d<\/p>\n

How to nominate<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Nominations for the awards are now open, and\u00a0nominations should be submitted online<\/a>. You can nominate yourself or someone else, for any category that you wish. Nominations will close at midnight on\u00a0Friday 28 February 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Whether nominated or not, we would love to hear about the volunteering that you may be involved in.\u00a0Please share your volunteering stories with us<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
