Different methods of assessment may advantage or disadvantage different students or groups of students, for various reasons. By offering varied assessment methods, a greater number of students will be more able to demonstrate they have met the learning outcomes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Engagement<\/strong>. When students are offered more choice in the assessment methods used, they are more likely to be engaged in the process of assessment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Skill development<\/strong>. Different methods of assessment promote development of different skills.
