As such, as we develop opportunities for students to engage in research and enquiry within the curriculum we should also provide opportunities for them to disseminate and publish their work in ways which are authentic to the research process in their discipline. It is therefore vital that we build these opportunities into our curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>In presenting their work for dissemination or publication, students are required to communicate their findings clearly and in forms and styles appropriate to the medium in which they are publishing and to the audience who will be engaging with their work. They are also able to refine and to extend their research through engagement with others.<\/p>\n<p>Some examples of ways in which students might be enabled to disseminate or publish their research include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Websites<\/li>\n<li>Blogs<\/li>\n<li>Wikis<\/li>\n<li>Exhibitions and shows<\/li>\n<li>Podcasts<\/li>\n<li>Videos<\/li>\n<li>Project reports<\/li>\n<li>Client presentations (e.g. for consultancy led projects)<br \/>\nPoster presentations<\/li>\n<li>A collected volume of student work (e.g. an edited collection of 'chapters' on different subjects under a theme)<\/li>\n<li>Research conferences (within Schools, the University or nationally - see for example the annual <a href=\"http:\/\/bcur.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">British Conference of Undergraduate Research<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Peer reviewed student journals (see for example <a href=\"http:\/\/geoverse.brookes.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Geoverse<\/a>, an undergraduate research journal for geographers, and <a href=\"http:\/\/biohorizons.oxfordjournals.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BioScience Horizons<\/a>, a journal for undergraduate and taught masters bioscience research)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Embedding Research &amp; Enquiry T&amp;L Activities Enquiry based Pedagogies Final Year Projects Assessment Dissemination resources &nbsp; The work of Helen Walkington from Oxford Brookes University is a useful starting point for those interested in developing dissemination and publication opportunities for students.
