With surround sound composition by BAFTA award-winning composer, Dan Jones.<\/p>\n<p>Measuring seven metres in diameter and suspended inside Reading\u2019s historic Concert Hall, Gaia features high-resolution NASA imagery of the Earth\u2019s surface.<\/p>\n<p>More details and booking: <a href=\"https:\/\/whatsonreading.com\/gaia\">https:\/\/whatsonreading.com\/gaia<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Tues 13 June 19.00-20.30<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Everyday Ways to Save Our Planet \u2013 In Conversation with Laura Tobin<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Climate Ambassador, Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society, University of Reading Alumna and broadcast meteorologist Laura Tobin has been campaigning to raise awareness of climate-change for the past 10 years. Knowing how devastating its effects can be \u2013 and how overwhelmed people can feel as they wonder how to help \u2013 Laura has been on an evocative journey to find the best ways to live more sustainably and reduce her family&#8217;s impact on the environment.<\/p>\n<p>Join us with a backdrop of the awe-inspiring Gaia installation to hear more about Laura\u2019s experience and her presentations and exhibits across London Road Campus displaying the different types of climate work we have completed.\u00a0It will be of interest to those embarking on their own journey to embed incredible work that is taking place to combat climate change and biodiversity loss.<\/p>\n<p>Aligning physical movement with climate action and education, this is a great opportunity to get students moving, thinking and starting the conversation about what climate action means to them.<\/p>\n<p>The National Schools Action Day is a chance for schools across the UK to unite, share and celebrate what they are doing and raise awareness for what can be done to combat the climate crisis.
