These children can often say\u00a0the\u00a0sounds even if\u00a0they do not yet use them in words.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #3366ff\">About the SSD pathway\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The SSD pathway is designed to support children with phonological based SSD by delivering an intervention that closely follows evidence based best practice.\u00a0The\u00a0pathway aims to support children with the clarity of their speech as well as working with the child\u2019s caregivers and education staff to support them to deliver\u00a0appropriate home\u00a0practice with the child.\u00a0We may also work with families to consider alternative forms of communication for use whilst the child\u2019s speech is difficult to understand.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Intervention is delivered by student\u00a0Speech and\u00a0Language\u00a0Therapists who are closely supervised by a <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/slt-clinic\/our-team2\/\">qualified specialist\u00a0Speech and Language Therapist<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #3366ff\">What does the SSD pathway involve?\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">You will\u00a0typically\u00a0be invited in for\u00a0nine sessions on this pathway.
