Research is vital to continue to improve outcomes for people with speech, language and communication needs. Research is embedded into what we do:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/slt-clinic\/detailed-assessment\/\">paediatric assessment pathway<\/a> is part of a research project called \u2018Database of developmental speech, language and communication disorder profiles.\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Adult clients may be invited to support the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reading.ac.uk\/pcls\/research\/aphasia-research-group\">Database of Acquired Language Impairment Profiles (DALIP)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>We support student research via <a href=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/speech-language-communication-development\/\">dissertations and PhD projects<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>We work with people who come to our clinic to ensure our research is meaningful to those who access speech and language therapy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>We work with local services to support clinical research outside the university<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Research and evaluation are core skills for SLTs.
