\"Cycles<\/a>Cycle theft is a significant concern on many campuses across the UK, and the University of Reading is no exception. To address this issue, we are committed to enhancing available infrastructure as part of an important project, with the purpose of improving cycle security across Whiteknights Campus.<\/p>\n

As part of our University Travel Plan<\/a>, we want to encourage staff, students, and visitors to travel sustainably, ensuring everyone feels confident cycling to campus and knowing their bikes will be stored securely. Currently, we offer 4,239 cycle parking spaces throughout campus, including five secure bicycle sheds at Whiteknights and additional secure storage options at our halls.<\/p>\n

The first phase of this project will focus on upgrading the secure cycle shed at the library. Construction is set to begin on November 11th, with a targeted completion date before Christmas.<\/p>\n

We understand that this work may cause some temporary inconvenience, and we are dedicated to minimising disruption. Throughout the construction period, some cycle storage will remain accessible at the library. However, there will be a short period when cyclists will need to use alternative bike racks located on Palmer Quad and next to Whiteknights House.<\/p>\n
