A new cycle store is now open next to Whiteknights House to help everyone keep their bikes secure. The new enclosed storage unit on the edge of Car Park 5 is accessed by key card and features improved lighting and CCTV coverage.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The Whiteknights House cycle store is is the latest in a series of new, more secure shelters being constructed on Whiteknights Campus to combat bike thefts and support colleagues to cycle to University. Another was opened outside the Library in the summer, while new stores are due to open at the SportsPark and outside Minghella building in central Whiteknights campus in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

Accessing the shelter<\/strong><\/h5>\n

To access the shelter, you will need your Campus Card and your unique four-digit ID number. Staff and students should first visit the Security office at Whiteknights House to have access added to their University ID card. This only needs to be done once. To obtain your ID number, visit the\u00a0Campus Card webpage<\/a> and sign in. Once you have these, you can enter the cycle shelter by tapping your card and entering the number.<\/p>\n

Stay secure<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Staff and students are reminded to be vigilant when storing their bikes to help us combat thefts of bikes on campus. Please be wary of allowing others to follow you into cycle shelters. We recommend you use a quality D-lock to secure your bike within the shelter. These can be purchased at the Security office in Whiteknights House.<\/p>\n

Travel survey<\/strong>\"\"<\/h5>\n

Cycling to University also supports our efforts to reduce the number of car journeys to campus, which is a stated aim in our Travel Plan 2024-29<\/a>.<\/p>\n
