{"id":723,"date":"2013-01-10T12:00:19","date_gmt":"2013-01-10T12:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.reading.ac.uk\/engage-in-teaching-and-learning\/?p=723"},"modified":"2019-10-04T15:37:33","modified_gmt":"2019-10-04T15:37:33","slug":"i-tutor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/t-and-l-exchange\/2013\/01\/10\/i-tutor\/","title":{"rendered":"I-TUTOR: Intelligent Tutoring for Lifelong Learning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.reading.ac.uk\/engage-in-teaching-and-learning\/files\/2012\/12\/I-TUTOR.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-724\" title=\"I-TUTOR\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.reading.ac.uk\/engage-in-teaching-and-learning\/files\/2012\/12\/I-TUTOR-300x184.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"184\" \/><\/a>The University of Reading is a project partner in a prestigious project to\u00a0develop a multi-agent based intelligent tutoring system to support online teachers, trainers, tutors and learners:\u00a0I-TUTOR.<\/p>\n<p>I-TUTOR, which stands for\u00a0Intelligent Tutoring for Lifelong Learning is to be applied in open source learning environments, and will monitor, track, analyze and give formative assessment and feedback to students within the learning environment while giving input to tutors and teachers involved in distance learning to enhance their role during the process of teaching.\u00a0Find out more on the project blog and website at\u00a0<a title=\"I-TUTOR\" href=\"http:\/\/www.intelligent-tutor.eu\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.intelligent-tutor.eu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Funded with support from the European Commission, the project started in January 2012 and is a partnership between the University of Macerata as coordinating institution, and the University of Palermo, University of Reading, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, ITEC, Militos, and Eden.<\/p>\n<p>Reaching the midterm in the project, the partnership has published its\u00a0<a title=\"I-TUTOR Newsletter, December 2012\" href=\"http:\/\/www.eden-online.org\/nap_elgg\/pg\/pages\/view\/3331\/issue-1-december-2012\" target=\"_blank\">first project newsletter<\/a>\u00a0to share the results achieved \u2013 including a comprehensive study of intelligent tutoring systems as well as an open source code for a survey chatbot that anyone is welcome to test.<\/p>\n<p>The team would welcome any feedback and suggestions.
