Blackboard Homepage

Once you have logged into Blackboard you will land on the Home page. This will have 2 main sections:
- Navigation menu
- Content area. This will change dependant on the navigation menu option selected
What’s on the navigation menu?

- Home Page – Links to sources of help, and is also where we’ll alert you to new features in Blackboard, or when relevant systems are undergoing maintenance work and may be unavailable.
- Profile page – Customise your blackboard
- Activity Stream page – Notifies you about upcoming events, recent activity, or new content in your modules. (For more information, read our ‘Activity Stream‘ guide)
- Courses page – Navigate and find your modules. You can search, filter and favourite. (For more information, read our ‘Accessing your Courses/Modules‘ guide)
- Organisations page – Organisations are areas that contain information and resources which you need to support your learning, but are not related to a single module. The organisations you have access to will depend on what you are studying and in which School.
- Calendar page – You can see Turnitin and Blackboard deadlines in the Calendar, but we recommend that you always look in the Blackboard course for your module to check exactly which deadlines apply to you.
- Messages page – Your instructors can send you and your course mates Blackboard messages from Blackboard courses.The number on the messages icon indicates the number of unread messages.
- Marks page – links you to the gradable items that are within your courses (This is not your ratified mark) look at your RISIS dashboard for final marks.
