How to track my progress in Blackboard

Progress Tracking is a tool in Blackboard Learn Ultra that enables you and your instructors to track your progress in a Blackboard Course (like a checklist). You can see the progress tracking icon next to each content item, on your Course Content page. This icon is displayed as a circle. As shown in the image below, you will see:

  • an empty circle if you haven’t yet opened the item
  • a partially filled circle when you’ve opened the item, but not completed it
  • a green check mark when you’ve completed the task or marked the item as complete
Progress Tracking icons: empty and partially filled circles, and green checkmark.

Assignments, Tests, Journals and Discussions will automatically be marked as complete when you have made the submission. You can mark items such as documents, files and links as complete once you have opened them by clicking on the button:

Marking documents, files and links as complete.

When all items in a folder have been completed, the folder will automatically be marked as complete:

When all items in a folder have been completed, the folder will automatically be marked as complete.

Note: A folder cannot be marked as complete until all the items within the folder have been completed or marked as complete.

Progress tracking is not an assessment tool and will not affect your marks. It will help you keep track of your progress through your learning materials and your instructors to review the course content and your progress.
