If you are leaving the University, please note that your IT and Blackboard accounts will be deactivated a few weeks after you complete your course. Once your IT username is closed, you will no longer have access to any University of Reading IT systems.
If you have any files stored on University systems that you wish to keep, please ensure you retrieve them before your account is closed.
To help you prepare, you will receive a notification email 30 days prior to the closure of your account.
Files you may need to save include:
- any personal files stored on your OneDrive. See guide “Download files and folders from OneDrive or SharePoint“
- emails. See guide “Export emails, contacts, and calendar items to Outlook using a .pst file“
- coursework from Blackboard
- feedback on assessed work from Blackboard i.e.
- work submitted to Turnitin assignments / feedback on work submitted to Turnitin assignments
- work submitted to Blackboard assignments / feedback on work submitted to Blackboard assignments
- any other personal files stored on university computers.
In particular, please remember to download Dissertations and other coursework files from OneDrive, as Support Centre staff won’t be able to retrieve these for you once you’ve left the university.
