Turnitin: I received an error while submitting my work – what should I do?

Most Turnitin issues are related to incompatible file types. If your file fails to upload, please ensure it meets Turnitin requirements.

Please check:

  • Your file meets minimum Turnitin requirement. Check “Turnitin File Requirements” guide for details.
  • Ensure file size is not larger than 100MB.
  • Remove excessive formatting from your document. (Don’t use Word and PowerPoint templates)
  • If you are submitting a scanned PDF or a word document which consists of images, please type in minimum 20 words in your document. For more information please check “Turnitin: Submit Scanned / Handwritten Work” guide.
  • Turnitin doesn’t support resubmission after due date. If you would like to replace already submitted work after the due date, please email work to support centre.
  • If you don’t see an error, but your file taking too long to upload, please check your internet connection.

Avoid late submissions: Always leave plenty of time and try to submit your work well in advance. If you are submitting work just before the deadline and experience technical issues, please send work to your support centre via “Ask a Questions“.
