There are many question types, most of which are auto marked. Each assignment will have a specific folder with all the assignment information including the brief and submission point. Read all text to ensure you follow all instructions. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The test questions will appear in the centre of the page <strong>(e)<\/strong>. The timer will continue. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once submitted you will be offered the opportunity to download a<strong> receipt<\/strong>.  This will also be emailed to you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"454\" height=\"488\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support-students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/93\/2024\/04\/Test-8.png\" alt=\"screenshot of test receipt.\" class=\"wp-image-5667\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-ast-global-color-5-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-ast-global-color-5-background-color has-background\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Please note<\/strong>, if submitting a Test as part of a group task, this tool allows one member of the group to submit and the assignment is assigned to all members of the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-ast-global-color-5-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-ast-global-color-5-background-color has-background\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"saving\">Saving Questions &#8211; Connection issues<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Saving questions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Your answers will be auto saved two seconds after you\u2019ve added your answer.&nbsp;Essay question responses are saved every 10s while you\u2019re typing and also again 2s after you\u2019ve stopped typing. Every time an answer has been auto saved, you will see a Last saved notification at the bottom of the assessment. (See <a href=\"#bottom\">Bottom menu<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Loss of internet connection<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you lose your connection to the internet, you\u2019ll receive a Connection lost warning<em>.<\/em>&nbsp;<strong>Do not refresh the page or use your browser back button<\/strong>, and check that you are connected to the internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/help.blackboard.com\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/rich_text_large\/public\/images\/2022-10\/learn_ultra_student_AutoSaveEnhancementForLostConnections_ConnectionLostWarning.png.jpg?itok=GS_2P7b8\" alt=\"Connection lost warning\" width=\"691\" height=\"66\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The warning disappears after 20 seconds.&nbsp;If your connection has not been restored by that time, another warning will let you know that your most recent work wasn\u2019t saved.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/help.blackboard.com\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/rich_text_large\/public\/images\/2022-10\/learn_ultra_student_AutoSaveEnhancementForLostConnections_ConnectionLostAndWorkNotSavedWarning_0.png.jpg?itok=Jble6jwI\" alt=\"Connection lost and progress not saved warning\" width=\"515\" height=\"270\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Your work will auto save once the connection is restored and you will be notified.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/help.blackboard.com\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/rich_text_large\/public\/images\/2022-10\/learn_ultra_student_AutoSaveEnhancementForLostConnections_ConnectionRestoredMessage.png.jpg?itok=sOEq1TLR\" alt=\"Connection restored and progress saved alert\" width=\"683\" height=\"83\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Auto saving is independent of your browser\u2019s Undo action. When you use the Undo action, contents change according to your browser settings. Any changes because of an Undo action will auto save.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"essay\">Answer Essay Questions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As will all questions it is important to read the instructions to essay questions carefully.  Any instructions regarding length of answer or whether the answer should be typed of attached as a separate file will be provided in the question. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Essay questions will have a Text Editor <strong>(g)<\/strong> provided with all the formatting capabilities to allow you to type, insert images etc. and format your work. If you have a <strong>reasonable adjustment<\/strong> set up via the Disability Advice Service (DAS) that allows you additional time in tests, this will be added to the total Time limit for your test. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-ast-global-color-5-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-ast-global-color-5-background-color has-background\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Automatic submission<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When the timer runs out the test will submit. A pop-up window will let you know that it has submitted (i in the image). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Timer icon <strong>(h)<\/strong> shows time remaining and when Time is up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A pop up window <strong>(i)<\/strong> shows when the test has automatically submitted, the text reads &#8220;Your work was automatically saved and submitted&#8221;. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"838\" height=\"266\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support-students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/93\/2024\/04\/Test-4.png\" alt=\"screenshot of Test with Timer display and pop-up Time is up showing. Use the crossed out eye icon to hide this reminder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>The time remaining <strong>(k)<\/strong> is displayed in text. Crossed eye icon displays next to the timer, under the progress bar. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"bottom\">Bottom menu<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The bottom menu options will remain available throughout the test. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A last saved counter <strong>(i) <\/strong>will start when you first answer a question.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Question Filter <strong>(m)<\/strong> allows you to filter which questions display (i.e. all, unanswered, essay etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Save and Close button <strong>(n)<\/strong> allows you to save and close the test and return to it.  If a timer has been set it will continue to count down in while the test is closed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Submit button <strong>(o)<\/strong> will allow you to submit at any time.
