{"id":6272,"date":"2024-08-08T17:19:00","date_gmt":"2024-08-08T16:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support-students\/?p=6272"},"modified":"2025-09-03T12:16:37","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T11:16:37","slug":"submit-to-a-bb-assignment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support-students\/submit-to-a-bb-assignment\/","title":{"rendered":"Submit to a Blackboard Assignment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On some modules you may be required to submit work to a Blackboard assignment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"258\" height=\"60\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support-students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/93\/2024\/06\/Blackboard-assignment.jpg\" alt=\"A Blackboard assignment\" class=\"wp-image-6352\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Blackboard assignment tool allows you to submit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#multiple-files\">more than one file<\/a> (e.g. a Word document and an Excel spreadsheet)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>files up to 250MB<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>video content via YuJa (please see our <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support-students\/how-to-submit-a-video-to-a-blackboard-assignment\/\">guidance on how to submit a video assignment<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>one piece of work for the whole group, where all members are able view the submission, marks and feedback. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Blackboard assignments may also be used when you are submitting files created using specialist software, such as Adobe design files, computer programming files, or CAD files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your Blackboard assignment may be set to generate a Turnitin similarity report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"sectionone\">Upload submission<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#step1\">Step 1: Find your submission point<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#step2\">Step 2: Upload your file<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#submit\">Step 3: Submit<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step1\">Step 1: Find your submission point<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Find your submission point in the Course Content under Assessment. You will see the instructions (1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the body of the page a rectangle (2) sits under the instructions.  The text inside the box directs you to &#8220;drag and drop files here or click to add text&#8221;. If you proceed with your submission without clicking \u201cAccept,\u201d you will be considered to have agreed to the EULA.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Step-3\">Step 3: Submit your work<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The submitted file will appear in the text editor. The number of attempts allowed will be displayed in the Attempts section of the submission panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click <strong>View Instructions <\/strong>to start a new attempt.
