This will let your lecturers see who you are when they look at the list of students enrolled on the Course and when you have made an online contribution, for example when you post as part of a Discussion activity. (Note: Other students on your module\/s will be able to see a small thumbnail image of you where this appears.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the blank profile area select the pencil to edit, upload a great picture, and save. You will need to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reading.ac.uk\/digital-technology-services\/home\/password-reset\">update your password <\/a>in Microsoft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the option to change your password is in Blackboard &#8211; this will not work and reset to your old password the next day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"906\" height=\"674\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support-students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/93\/2025\/09\/Dont-change-password-Bb-1.png\" alt=\"Do not use the change password link in Blackboard. This automatically updates via your Microsoft login for Blackboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Customise-your-Courses-list\">Customise your Courses list<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Courses in Blackboard normally represent a module, but they can also be used for a programme. Change your view<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Using the icons just to the left of the search bar, you can choose to view your courses as a list, or as tiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Search for courses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can search your courses to easily find the one you need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Filter by academic year<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use the drop-down list under &#8216;Terms&#8217; to filter the courses you are enrolled on by academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Filters<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use the drop-down list under &#8216;Filters&#8217; to select &#8216;All courses&#8217;, &#8216;Courses I teach&#8217;, &#8216;Courses I am taking&#8217;, &#8216;Open courses&#8217;, &#8216;Private courses&#8217;, or &#8216;Completed courses&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Add courses to Favourites<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can click on the star icon on the right-hand side to add courses to your &#8216;Favourites&#8217; so that they always appear at the top of the list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Closed \/ unavailable courses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Any courses shown here as \u2018Closed\u2019 are unavailable to students. Your lecturers will make courses available to you at an appropriate time. If there are any unavailable modules which you think you should already be able to access, please raise this with your lecturer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Courses ending PR are programme courses are created automatically each year you are studying and are rarely used for teaching and learning.
