Blackboard Learn: The Course Calendar

Staff and students can access the Calendar from the Global Navigation menu, top right of the Blackboard screen.

By default this will display calendar events from all of your courses.

Important: some limitations of the Blackboard Calendar

The Calendar does not display everything that you might expect it to, and it is worth alerting students to this.

Blackboard Tests and Assignments, Turnitin Assignments

These will NOT display on the Calendar if the Grade Centre column for the test or assignment is hidden.
The Grade Centre column will almost certainly be hidden for all summative assessments, as this the way of ensuring that students do not see marks prematurely.

Collaborate sessions

Scheduled Collaborate sessions do not display in the Blackboard Calendar.

If you want such events to appear in your course Calendar you will have to add them manually. However you would also have to remember to manually edit those calendar events if, say, the due date for an assessment were to change.
