About Blackboard content
Your course creation starts on the Course Content page. Blackboard content types include learning modules, documents, links, folders, assignments, tests, discussions, and journals.

Supported file types are Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PDF, and maximum allowed file size is 1 GB.

Create content
- Click “+” sign
- Click “Create” to create a new content type, and choose the content type you would like to create (e.g. Learning Module, Document etc.)
- Add title and description (other options vary depending upon content type you are creating)
- Set “Visible to Student” when ready (can be changed later).

Copy content
- Click “+” sign
- Click “Copy Content” (content can be copied from a same course, and others courses or organisations where you have editing permissions)

Upload content
- Click “+” sign
- Click “Upload” (allow you to directly upload different file types e.g. Word, PowerPoint, and PDF etc.)
- Type “Display Name” and set display options for students
Display option: view and download, view only, download only
Edit content
Delete content
In Blackboard Ultra, when a content type is deleted, all the attached files are moved to “Recycle Bin”.
Restore deleted content
You can only restore deleted files within 30 days of deletion. If you have accidentally deleted a content such as learning module, document, link, folder, assignment, test, discussion, and journal. Please raise a support ticket within 30 days of the deletion.
