Grading in the Blackboard app

Previously there were separate mobile apps for students and instructors. These have now been combined into a single app, which is available to download for iOS and Android.

If you are an Instructor on a course, you can view course content, regardless of whether it is available to students, and you can carry out a limited range of tasks directly within the mobile app – for example you can post an announcement.

Support for the Blackboard Instructor iOS and Android apps ends in September 2022.

See https://help.blackboard.com/Blackboard_App/Instructors for more information.

It is possible to use the Blackboard app to mark work submitted to a Blackboard Assignment.

We would advise that you

  • read the the Blackboard help page on Grading in Blackboard Instructor
  • contact the TEL team if you have any further queries
  • use the feature initially only on formative / low stakes assessments.

Please note that, at present, the app can only be used to mark work submitted to Blackboard assignments.

Unlike the Turnitin iPad app, the Instructor app does not support offline marking.
