see <a href=\"#permissions\"><strong>Setting the external examiner&#8217;s permissions<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The easiest way for them to access Gradescope is via a <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support\/2021\/02\/17\/gradescope-add-gradescope-to-a-course-content-area\/\">link on the course menu<\/a> &#8211; this saves them having to locate a Gradescope link in the exam folder.<\/li>\n<li>Once into Gradescope, they can use the Gradescope dashboard to access other courses they are enrolled on.<\/li>\n<li>We have produced a\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support\/2021\/06\/09\/gradescope-guide-for-external-examiners\/\">Guide for external examiners<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>which shows them how to access Gradescope, and to view marked work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How best to present work to external examiners?<\/h2>\n<h3>To view all submitted and marked work<\/h3>\n<p>By directly accessing the Gradescope course for the module.<\/p>\n<h3>To view a sample of marked papers<\/h3>\n<p>Here are three options, not necessarily mutually exclusive.<\/p>\n<h4>Option 1 &#8211; work.<\/h4>\n<p>You can download the students&#8217; work in two ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Download all students&#8217; work in bulk<\/li>\n<li>Download Individual students&#8217; work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Download all students&#8217; work is downloaded you can make these available to the external examiner via their Blackboard Organisation or Teams space.<\/p>\n<div id=\"permissions\">\n<h2>Setting the External Examiner&#8217;s permissions<\/h2>\n<p>If you enrol the external on your Blackboard course with the External Examiner role, and they access Gradescope before you have pressed Sync Roster, then they will be able to access the Gradescope course with full permissions as an Instructor.<\/p>\n<p>But to be absolutely sure that they will be able to access marked work without any problems, please follow these steps.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enrol the external\u00a0on your Blackboard course with the External Examiner role.<\/li>\n<li>Go into Gradescope, go to the\u00a0<strong>Roster<\/strong> page and press\u00a0<strong>Sync Blackboard Roster<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Use the search bar to find the external. They will be shown as a Student.<\/li>\n<li>Change their role to\u00a0<strong>Reader<\/strong>.
