My role is to manage the University’s TEL systems. I function as the conduit between pedagogy and technology with overall responsibility for the front-end operational management, development and continuous improvement of our digital learning systems. Engaging and collaborating with stakeholders, I continue developing and supporting operational processes and workflows that underpin use of our digital learning systems. Using a strong appreciation of end-user perspectives and the user experience, I co-ordinate testing of new functionality and features, to evaluate their impact and potential.
My main background is from the Royal Air Force, where I was in multiple operational and instructional roles, and developed the training of recruits to include innovative approaches to learning, including the use of technology in teaching.
Prior to joining the University of Reading, I was the Core Services manager for the University College of Estate Management in a similar role but using Moodle for delivery of courses.
