Personal Capture refers to the recording of teaching without students. Recordings can be created by capturing a combination of audio, video and/or screen. This might be a recording of a narrated PowerPoint presentation or a recording of an on-screen demonstration of how to perform a task in a computer application. A recording of a screen is referred to as a screen-cast. Recordings can be made available to students through, for example, the Blackboard VLE, Personal Capture recordings can be used as part of blended and flipped learning approaches.
