Always start with the highest level and work through all the sub-levels without skipping any levels \u00a0i.e. use the styles in descending order(don&#8217;t use a Sub-header before a Header has been used).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-12287 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2023\/12\/Editor-1.jpg\" alt=\"screenshot of Ultra editor text formatting options Text styles\" width=\"112\" height=\"198\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Font formats<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Content Editor has a size of 14pt, and the font family is Open Sans by default.\u00a0 You should \u00a0use Sans Serif fonts like Arial or Verdana which are easier to read.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-12290 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2023\/12\/Editor-3.jpg\" alt=\"screenshot of Ultra editor text formatting options Font size\" width=\"114\" height=\"269\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-12289 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2023\/12\/Editor-2.jpg\" alt=\"screenshot of Ultra editor text formatting options Fonts\" width=\"117\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Use colours with sufficient contrast<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Generally, use dark colours on light or pale backgrounds and vice-versa. Use bullets for unordered lists, or numbers or letters for ordered lists. More information about creating accessible documents can be found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reading.ac.uk\/digital-accessibility\/resources\">Digital Accessibility Resources.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Check accessibility of files with the Ally Course Accessibility Report<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support\/2019\/08\/30\/blackboard-ally-course-accessibility-report\/\">Ally<\/a> automatically checks course materials against WCAG 2.1 Accessibility Standards delivering guidance to instructors to improve the accessibility of their course content.
