Blackboard Ultra retains familiar aspects\u00a0 but has a more <strong>usable and intuitive interface <\/strong>and introduced <strong>new features and functionality.<\/strong> Organisation spaces were moved to Ultra ready for use in September 2023. Blackboard Courses (modules) began to use Ultra for the start of the 2024\/25 academic year. This page provides information about the project and links to other key pages.<\/p>\n<h2>What is Blackboard Learn Ultra?<\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"730\" height=\"411\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/A6H2M2egLbY?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-GB&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>For information on what and who was involved, and the rationale for this work and its timing, please see: <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.reading.ac.uk\/telblog\/2023\/03\/21\/blackboard-learn-ultra-an-improved-version-of-blackboard-learn\/\">Blackboard Learn Ultra &#8211; an improved version of Blackboard Learn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Timeline<\/h2>\n<p>The Blackboard Learn Ultra <strong>project timeline was <\/strong><strong>aligned with the implementation of the Portfolio Review Pathway (PRP)<\/strong>.\u00a0 This meant that whilst you were producing your modules ready to be taught in 2024\/25, you could also consider the new features and options in Blackboard Learn Ultra. The high-level timeline was:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>for the start of <strong>academic year 2023\/24<\/strong>: All <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/blackboard-learn-ultra-organisations\/\">Blackboard<strong> Organisations<\/strong><\/a> (for <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support\/2021\/10\/04\/blackboard-organisations\/\">supporting learning beyond a module<\/a>) were moved to Blackboard Learn Ultra.<\/li>\n<li>for the start of <strong>academic year 2024\/25<\/strong>: Blackboard <strong>Courses<\/strong> (for all modules) used Blackboard Learn Ultra (to correspond with when the new PRP-redesigned modules started being taught).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Course Template<\/h2>\n<p>Moving to Blackboard Ultra provided an opportunity to agree and introduce an institutional level <strong>course template<\/strong> to improve consistency and the student experience. <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.me\/P9UENj-3jy\">Find out more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Project Champions<\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">There was <strong>a community of Ultra Champions<\/strong> comprised of colleagues from across the university, providing a forum to share experiences and ideas around Blackboard Learn Ultra and an opportunity to engage with new and existing features.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Who do I contact re: Blackboard Ultra?<\/h2>\n<p>If you have <strong>any questions<\/strong> about Blackboard Learn Ultra, please log via the <a href=\"https:\/\/uor.topdesk.net\/tas\/public\">DTS Self-Service Portal.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A project to implement the transition from Blackboard Learn (our Virtual Learning Environment) to the improved version: Blackboard Learn Ultra concluded in October 2024.
