Why is the University introducing a polling tool?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Polling tools provide an effective and easy way for teachers to engage students in problem solving and constructing knowledge, and to give students timely formative feedback. The University is introducing an institution-wide polling solution so that teaching staff have access to a single, fully supported platform.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why was\u00a0Vevox\u00a0chosen?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Vevox\u00a0was selected following a formal procurement process, which included evaluation against\u00a0University\u00a0requirements, demonstrations based on teaching scenarios, technical\u00a0review\u00a0and input from academic, technical and TEL colleagues.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When will\u00a0Vevox\u00a0be available?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Vevox<\/span>\u00a0is expected to be\u00a0<\/span>made<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>available to\u00a0<\/span>teaching<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>colleagues\u00a0<\/span>by December\u00a0<\/span>2026<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>with more specific rollout dates and implementation plans to be shared as they are<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>confirmed.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Who is leading the project?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

The project is led by Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) in partnership with Digital Technology Services (DTS),\u00a0Procurement\u00a0and\u00a0academic\u00a0colleagues from across the University.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We’ll\u00a0share further updates through our usual channels and on\u00a0our\u00a0<\/span>Project Site<\/span><\/a>\u00a0as the project progresses, including information\u00a0about\u00a0rollout, pedagogic guidance, practical training\u00a0opportunities\u00a0and support ahead of the University-wide launch.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

            Yes. Accessibility was a key\u00a0University\u00a0requirement during the procurement process.\u00a0Vevox\u00a0is designed to support accessible teaching and learning, and\u00a0we’ll\u00a0provide\u00a0further guidance on accessibility features and good practice as part of our guidance.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

            Will Vevox work with Blackboard?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

            Yes.\u00a0Vevox\u00a0integrates with Blackboard, allowing polling activities to be linked with your modules. More information and guidance will be available before launch.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

            Can I create anonymous polls?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

            Yes.\u00a0Vevox\u00a0supports anonymous polling and activities, allowing students to respond without revealing their identity.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

            Will staff receive training?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

            Yes. Training sessions,\u00a0guidance\u00a0and online resources will be available before launch to help staff get started with\u00a0Vevox.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

            Will there be guidance for students?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

            Yes. Student guidance will be produced alongside staff guidance where needed.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

            Will my existing\u00a0Vevox\u00a0polls be transferred to the University account?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

            If you already have a free or paid-for\u00a0Vevox\u00a0account, your existing content may be transferable.\u00a0We’re\u00a0currently exploring the available options with\u00a0Vevox\u00a0and will\u00a0provide\u00a0further guidance during implementation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
