Ultra Base Navigation (UBN)\u00a0is the name given to the new design and navigation within Blackboard, before you enter a module or organisation. Module and Organisation\u00a0menus, tools and content are\u00a0unaffected by this update.<\/p>\n
The move to UBN took place on the evening of Monday 9th<\/sup> August, 2021.<\/p>\n For guidance on finding your way around the new interface please see<\/p>\n A simplified global navigation menu<\/strong> on the left-hand side of the screen gives you and your students immediately access to the most important features.<\/p>\n An\u00a0Activity Stream<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0shows personalised upcoming and recent activity<\/strong> across all\u00a0of the Modules\u00a0and Organisations you are enrolled on, in a single place.\u00a0 This can be a due date for an assignment, an announcement or newly uploaded learning materials. You can jump directly into a module from an item listed in the Activity Stream.<\/p>\n The\u00a0Courses\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>page has been designed to make it easier to navigate and find your modules<\/strong>. They are listed by academic year (referred to as Terms by Blackboard) and can be searched, filtered, and displayed in different ways. You can also favourite Modules.<\/p>\n Organisations<\/strong> have greater prominence by being part of the main menu. The\u00a0School & Department Tab<\/strong> (Portal Pages) is being replaced by Organisations<\/strong>. (See below for more information.)<\/p>\n The Marks\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>page\u00a0(referred to as\u00a0Grades by Blackboard) gives you quick access to mark coursework across modules<\/strong>. Students can use this to view their marks and feedback.<\/p>\n The Profile <\/strong>page allows you to add a profile picture<\/strong> and\u00a0customise the notifications you want to receive<\/strong> in the Activity Stream, by email or on the mobile Blackboard App.<\/p>\n The Help\u00a0<\/strong>provides a focus for guides for using Blackboard<\/strong> and links to\u00a0University Central Services<\/strong>.\u00a0This replaces the School & Department Tab (Portal pages), which are disappearing.
