We aim to provide all of our students with an optimal learning experience by ensuring all teaching and learning resources and experiences are as accessible and as inclusive as possible.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2022\/05\/Ally.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-10436 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2022\/05\/Ally-300x105.png\" alt=\"Ally logo\" width=\"300\" height=\"105\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2022\/05\/Ally-300x105.png 300w, https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2022\/05\/Ally.png 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One way in which we do this is by using the<strong> Blackboard Ally tool. <\/strong>This tool <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support\/2018\/08\/15\/getting-started-with-blackboard-ally\/\">enables staff to check and improve the accessibility of content they upload to Blackboard,<\/a> and provides students with the choice of downloading content from Blackboard<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support-for-students\/2018\/09\/21\/blackboard-ally-getting-started-with-alternative-accessible-formats\/\"> in a range of different formats<\/a> (including audio MP3 files and PDFs) to best suit them. Chatting recently to REP Masters student Hannah Baxter, she\u00a0 explained how she liked the option of downloading content as PDF documents using different tabs as this helped her to organise her information and thoughts.<\/p>\n<p>Staff can find out more about how they can use <strong>Blackboard Ally<\/strong> to improve the accessibility of their Blackboard content on the <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support\/2018\/08\/15\/getting-started-with-blackboard-ally\/\">Staff Support site.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Students can learn more about the different formats available for download on Blackboard on the <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel-support-for-students\/2018\/09\/21\/blackboard-ally-getting-started-with-alternative-accessible-formats\/\">Student Support site<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>GAAD is all about focusing our attention and reflection on ensuring we provide digitally accessible experiences and resources to all our students.
