{"id":2453,"date":"2017-01-30T12:15:53","date_gmt":"2017-01-30T12:15:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/?p=2453"},"modified":"2017-01-30T12:15:53","modified_gmt":"2017-01-30T12:15:53","slug":"avoid-using-commas-in-the-title-of-turnitin-assignments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/2017\/01\/30\/avoid-using-commas-in-the-title-of-turnitin-assignments\/","title":{"rendered":"Avoid using commas in the title of Turnitin assignments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We have recently become aware of a minor issue when <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/support-blackboard\/blackboard-support-staff-assessment\/blackboard-support-staff-turnitin\/export_grades_from_turnitin\/\">exporting marks from a Turnitin Assignment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This issue only arises<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>when using Google Chrome (but this is generally our <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.reading.ac.uk\/tel\/2016\/04\/25\/which-browser-works-best-with-blackboard-and-turnitin\/\">preferred browser<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>for Turnitin Assignments which have a comma in their title<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So there&#8217;s a simple solution: don&#8217;t use commas in the title of your Turnitin Assignments.<\/p>\n<p>Strangely, other punctuation marks seem to be OK &#8211; it&#8217;s just commas which cause a problem.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We have recently become aware of a minor issue when exporting marks from a Turnitin Assignment.
