Bookings close on Friday (30 June).\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>*<strong>Please see the link in the <span style=\"color: #008000\">Details &amp; Booking<\/span> section at the end of this email for full descriptions of the \u2018gigs\u2019 (sessions) and booking information.<\/strong>*<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>TEL Fest<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>TEL Fest is designed in large part (though not exclusively) to help academic staff make the most of technology to enhance teaching and learning. (Administrative staff may also be interested in some of the sessions.) A series of bookable sessions, and something a little different from our TEL staff development provision during the year, it draws on expertise from colleagues across the University and external speakers, and comprises a range of TEL-related demonstrations, practical workshops, a roadshow and sharing\/showcase sessions. Whether you come along to one or many \u2018gigs\u2019, and regardless of your previous TEL experience,\u00a0the festival has been developed to ensure that you leave both inspired and equipped with the skills you need to enhance your current practice.<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>The Programme<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Here\u2019s how the final festival programme (<strong><span style=\"color: #ff00ff\">and catered lunchtime \u2018fringe<\/span>\u2019<\/strong>) shapes up:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>Tuesday 11 July<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Telling TEL Tales and TEL Tapas: A taster session<\/strong>. What are they doing elsewhere with TEL and Blackboard? Examples of interesting &amp; innovative practice at other institutions (Steve Hoole, Blackboard)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mixing it up with an OOC: Lessons from our Open Online Courses for designing blended learning and maximising student engagement <\/strong>(the OOC team)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff00ff\"><strong>Lunchtime \u2018Fringe\u2019: TEL Roadshow (light lunch, drop-in)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Blackboard Bootcamp: Whip your Blackboard course in to shape!<\/strong>\u00a0A practical workshop to help you develop your Blackboard module (Steve Hoole, Blackboard)<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>Wednesday 12 July<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Electronic Management of Assessment \u2013 Programme overview, progress and initial deliverables!<\/strong> (Emma Mayhew &amp; EMA team)<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ucl.ac.uk\/abc-ld\/\">ABC Curriculum Design workshop<\/a><\/strong>. A rapid-design workshop useful for new programmes and those being reviewed and changing to a more blended format, with links to the Curriculum Framework initiative (Clive Young &amp; Natasa Perovic, University College, London)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff00ff\"><strong>Lunchtime \u2018Fringe\u2019: Show and TEL &#8211; Teaching Large Classes.\u00a0<\/strong>A forum for academics to share how they\u2019ve approached teaching large classes and technologies that can help. A look at the new Large Class Toolkit too!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>2.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ucl.ac.uk\/abc-ld\/\">ABC Curriculum Design workshop<\/a><\/strong>.
